How Often Should You Change Your Brake Fluid?


Your brake system is one of the most important safety features in your vehicle—and brake fluid plays a critical role in keeping it working properly. Over time, brake fluid absorbs moisture, which can lead to corrosion inside the brake lines and reduced stopping power.


So how often should you change your brake fluid? At Joe’s Slinger Service, we generally recommend a brake fluid flush every 2 to 3 years or around 30,000 miles, depending on your driving habits. If you’re often in stop-and-go traffic, tow heavy loads, or drive in the hills around Washington County or surrounding areas, you might need it sooner.
